Yên Bái

Yên Bái is known for the Mường Lò plain — the second-largest glutinous rice basket of the Northwest — which yields the Tú Lệ glutinous rice behind Thái dishes such as xôi ngũ sắc (five-coloured steamed glutinous rice) and cốm (young green rice). Alongside it, the vịt bầu (pot-bellied duck) raised free-range in the hills of Lâm Thượng is another prized product, adding to the culinary picture of this mountain province.
