Vĩnh Long
Vĩnh Long lies between the Tiền and Hậu branches of the Mekong and is known as the land of fertile river islets in the heart of the delta. Its food is tied to the river and the orchards — the rustic cá lóc nướng trui (snakehead grilled in burning straw), the cá cháy of Trà Ôn, a prized seasonal catch from the Hậu river, and the unusual bánh xèo hến of the Cù Lao Dài islets.
