Tuyên Quang sits on the Lô and Gâm rivers, home to Tày and Nùng communities whose cooking is bound up with the rivers and with traditional cakes. Bánh gai from Chiêm Hóa, vịt bầu (a local pot-bellied duck breed) from Minh Hương and cá lăng (river catfish) from the Lô are its emblematic products, drawn from native ingredients and the skilled hands of the people here.
